I just returned from Photostock 2008, hosted by Bill Schwab at his cottage near Harbor Springs Michigan. http://www.northlightworkshops.com/workshops/michigan_gathering/index.html

What an inspiring weekend! I met so many accomplished photographers and printers. The weekend was loosely organized around photo shoots and printing/historical processes workshops. If anyone has the opportunity to attend an event like this, jump in with both feet. I can't wait to develop my films.

Cheers,
Tom

Bill is a great guy, I hope you will be able to share some of your images of the workshop with us. Hopefully, someday I'll get an opportunity to go myselt. Who else did you meet while you were there?

Who did I meet?... Let's see... Jamie Young, of the famed Circuit Camera, John Powers, Joe Smigiel, Jerry Basierbe, Matt Blais, Jeff and Eva Bannow... Marianne Priest (what a sweet and gentle woman)... Bill, of course... I must admit being star-struck at meeting Nicole Boenig McGrade and Daniel Lin... Don Barber, Frlm-sprocket Marc and Mark O'brien and Mark Severson, Andres Moxom... Thomas Bartilsson, Dan Henderson... the list just grows and grows.

The event was AMAZING!!! I am so inspired to have spent a few days with such passionate, talented photographers.

I still need to develop my films... My goal... to actually get some printing done before the negatives gather dust. I have a few colour films to send out... some Agfa Optima from my Rollei, and some Kodachrome 25 from my Nikon.

Later,
Tom

Sounds like it was a great time. Can't wait to see some of your work from that.
