Hello everyone! I found this site the other day while looking for film related material on the net. I've been into photography seriously for about 5 years now...learning all the time. I'm a hobbyist -- in fact my day job is working with computers and networking, so I get very tired of that kind of stuff quickly when I am not at work. My love of photography was finally realized when I was sent to Afghanistan with the military back in 2002-2003 (imagine that?) Needless to say, it has been my passion outside of my cubicle walls ever since.

I mainly shoot with an RB67 that i acquired recently, and a 35mm, mostly black and white film that i develop at home and traditional printing (I rent darkroom space periodically to print my work). I am starting to shoot some medium format chromes as well. My favorite subjects are details of vintage cars, nature, and portraits. I really try to capture a moment or mood in time, or a moment in times past.

Well, much luck to this site. I hope to share and learn here with all of you. I can already see the level of talent here, and I'm really glad to find people with similar interests.

Hi Matt,

Welcome from Hawaii. I'm glad you found us, and glad you joined. I do a bit of 35mm myself, and have seriously considered getting a RZ67 - I've always loved those Mamiya cameras. Most of my serious work is on 4x5 however; I love the format, but after a long day at the office it can be difficult to get out with it.

Like you, my day job is with computers, and I get a bit tired of working with them and don't want to relax in front of one.

Looking forward to seeing some of your work, especially, your stuff from Afghanistan.
