I would like to announce our Featured Photographer for March 2008. This month, Eric Rose has agreed to be in the spotlight. He has submitted a wonderful color image of Lake Annette in Canada's Banff National Park.

As Eric writes in his submission:

"There are so many stunning vistas to challenge your compositional skills. The colours are so vivid as to seem almost unreal."

I couldn't agree more. This is an image that makes you stop and think, because in reality you are looking at a reflection in the lake. I somehow suspect that I would have passed this image up had I been there, but Eric was sensitive to his surroundings to capture it beautifully.

As always, my goal is to highlight photographers from different areas, doing different types of work, wherever possible. There are so many good photographers here, and I will be asking those who haven't been asked in the future.

Eric,

Congratulations.

Banff Nat'l Park has long been on my "bucket list" of places to see before I kick the proverbial. Your shot inspires me to visit that special place.

George

Eric,

Congratulations on being the featured photographer of the month. Banff National Park is a beautiful gem that I have not been to since I was very young. Would love to get back there.

I can just imagine the solitude being in a place like this would bring - one of the reasons I find this image so strking. One of the bad things about living in Hawaii, especially on Oahu, is the complete lack of solitude almost everywhere.

Thanks guys. I love the mountains, they are my sanity check. Whenever I get stressed out I just go up there and lean back against a tree. Very calming. For 3 years I lived in the maritimes and I almost went nuts because I didn't have my mountains.
