Greetings;

I've 'lurked' here for awhile, finally deciding to join your photographic fellowship.  Many of the usernames I recognize from other forums.

I've been an amateur/hobbiest photographer for many years, and mainly focus on large format & pinhole photography with an emphasis on the silver gelatin darkroom.  I also enjoy rangefinder cameras and 'adapted optics', like improvised lenses on Speed Graphics or box camera, etc.

I've been involved in other forums, and hope to remain focussed in this forum strictly on photography, hoping to not stray too far off the beaten path into pointless philosophical arguments, etc.  I'll also promise to try and be less opinionated, at least on subjects non-photographic.

I look forward to enjoying learning from this group, and perhaps contributing a bit myself.

~Joe

Hi Joe,

Welcome from Hawaii. I'm glad you decided to say hello. New Mexico is a beautiful state, unfortunately, I haven't been there in quite a few years. That means, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your images of it.

We are trying to be mostly photographic oriented, but like all human beings we sometimes need to blow off steam, so sometimes I imagine difficult topics may popup. However, I'll do my best as well to try to stay on subject.

Joe,

Welcome to this still small, but hopefully growing, gathering of traditional photographers.

I divide my time b/w NY and AZ.

I've been active on other photog websites too. Hopefully, this will be a more pleasant place for all of us.

Regards,

George
