I haven't really kept up with what is going on in APUG, mostly because I became persona non grata there when I started this forum (not to everyone though). I was told about some of the threads going on over there, but haven't looked (except this morning), and outside what Steve Simmons posted I know very little. I am disappointed in what is going on there, about foto3, but not really surprised.

Hey Jorge I kept in touch with you! I love you man (manly hug) LOL. I will be in Utah, AZ etc two weeks prior to the conference so it's been a non issue for me. It's to bad APUG pulled out and we may never really find out what happened. Frankly I don't care. I also don't enter into photo contest either as I find them a waste of time.
I was in the darkroom last night and did a 16x20 of one of my Harley negs. SWEET! The other night my buddy with the 8x20 Canham came over with the negs we shot together and we contact printed them. Also very SWEET. This is why I do what I do. It's not to sit back and yak on forums. Geez I just got roasted by some wanker on APUG who probably hasn't shot as many photos total as I shot in one week when I was shooting professionally. Heck I've worn out probably a dozen cameras. But alas everyone has the right to their opinion and the ability to express it. Oh well time to go back into lurk mode again.

I went back to visit APUG because of foto3, and mostly just saw what was going on with the conference and moved on. Like you Eric I never enter contests, but with Ann Tucker as judge I thought it was a good deal, how many times do you get to have a museum curator view your work? other than at fotofest, etc. Now that they have changed the judges I am no longer thinking about it.
I understand people who are not LF users cancelling their reservations, but c'mon, to try to sabotage the conference just because APUG pulled out?...that is just plain silly.
Anyway, the good thing about this is that I no longer have a reason to visit APUG once more....

Jorge Gasteazoro (4/8/2008) I went back to visit APUG because of foto3, and mostly just saw what was going on with the conference and moved on.There does seem to be a high level of animosity over there on this subject. Sad.
