I've spent the past few days scanning 35mm slides and I'm still amazed at the amount of detail a good old Velvia slide can have.

RE: A couple of film shooters I just read about

I'm always too lazy. I was just checking out Randall Hodges' work - quite nice, especially considering he is shooting 35mm.

It is always a breath of fresh air to see these photographers, it seems at times like everyone is shooting digital, but then you run into photographers like Randall Hodges and Henry Dallal (that I mentioned a week or so ago), and it is just great.

I've already got Cornish and Dykinga on the photographer's list (under Resources), but will add the other two as well.

RE: A couple of film shooters I just read about
Derek Lofgreen (6/24/2008)
Rangefinder magazine had a nature and landscape issue a couple of issues ago and they profiled some folks that still shoot film! I was floored. Usually all that rag does is push the "Canon digital way", sort of gets old after a while. Anyway here are a few links to some exceptional shooters.

http://www.randalljhodges.com/newportfolio2.htm

http://www.joecornish.com/

http://inclouds.com/

http://www.dykinga.com/Welcome.html

Enjoy.
D.
Well, such is the dilemma for magazine publishers these days. Digital photographers want to see digital images. (I'll stop there... this could get very long-winded)

Anyway, I've been a fan of Joe Cornish for some time, and I know I've seek Jack Dykinga's work before. (The site now requires a login, which I don't recall)

I really like the Randal Hodges photographs. I had not seen his work before. Shows what you can do with a nice 35mm slide film.

Cheers,
Tom

A couple of film shooters I just read about

Rangefinder magazine had a nature and landscape issue a couple of issues ago and they profiled some folks that still shoot film!
