My auto login does not work. I click the "save" box everytime I log in but it never gets saved.

Robert. I was hoping to be able to read your article on your recent acquiral of the F6 but when I click the more button it takes me back to the same home page where the article starts with a couple of opening paragraphs only. Can you help?

Needed Features & Shortcomings

Here is a list of things I think need work.

Dates - dates and times are always formatted in US standard format. They should be configurable for UK and other formats.
Buttons in the thread views are really hard to make out - new ones are needed.
Inability to hide forums from search views. A feature on other forums that I've come to value.

I'll add more as I find out more about the software.

Purpose and Vision

I just caught Jorge's post in the Snake Pit about the Large Format Photography forum, and I see the conflict some new steps have created. There is a real lack of leadership if such steps are allowed, so I would like to propose the following:

Put a link that is accessible from all places of the hierarchy of this web site that leads to a declaration of the purpose of this web site, as well as a clearly identifiable vision of where it wants to be in the future. Basically a Mission Statement, and a Vision Statement. It may sound rudimentary and somewhat stiff, but it will aid in people understanding why this web site exists, what purpose it serves. That in itself brings members and visitors level and on the same playing field, or at least helps in that direction. If the forum Admin wants to PM me, we can discuss it, and I can offer up some of my time to help writing those statements.

I hope this suggestion is considered seriously so that there can be a definite common cause and spirit here.

Any Mac users?

Does anyone have a Mac or access to one? Safari is the one type of browser I don't have, and I could use the help of anyone who has one. Basically, I just need someone who will be willing to send me screen shots of anything that doesn't look right and post any bug reports they see. I'll look at getting Safari for Windows up and running and see if that help,

Cookies

I've been tracking issues with cookies today. Usually, I log in an out several times a day with two different accounts, but today, I've been using just one to find out why some are not able to stay logged on. I was able to stay logged on for only a couple of short visits, but and to log back in on this visit. I'll be looking at the cookie infastructure over the weekend to see what I can find out.
