Batteries ..... lots of batteries. The only real negative I have with the camera is that is it a battery hog. I was going through a set of 8 Lithium batteries, every 20 rolls or so.

The shutter interlock button is a real pain, but you will soon learn how to unlock and switch the camera on one-handed in no time at all.

The F5 is a great camera, and I still use mine as a backup, but it doesn't come close to comparing with the F6.

I think I really extended the capacity of the batteries by simply using the center weighted or the spot meter... I have a theory that the "3d color matrix meter" reeeeeally uses a lot of energy for some reason.

Hmmm.... interesting idea. Not something I would have thought about. I probably should have mentioned before, that my battery usage was based upon using a VR lens. However, my F6, using the same lens went about 70 rolls before I changed batteries. Nikon has made good strides in power management between the F5 and the F6.

BTW, welcome to TraditionalPhotography.
