A friend is giving me two rolls of 35mm TechPan to try out, so I'm looking for advice on how to shoot and process it. I suspect I'll probably shoot it in an urban environment, rather than using it for landscapes.

Any advice on filters, things to avoid and and ways I can use this film to its advantage would be appreciated. Also, I'm going to need to find someone that can process it.

Thanks in advance,

Robert M. Teague

I've found that Praus advertises that it can process TechPan using Technidol, so I'll be sending the film there for processing.

Any thoughts or suggestions on technique. I thought it might be worth trying on my upcoming trip next month to the Philippines.

Thanks,

That's cool, Jason!

Robert, I've only ever shot one roll of Tech Pan, and I decided I don't like it. It's also discontinued, so I'm leaving it alone. If I were you with only two rolls, I'd shoot it according to dr5 Chrome. Dave has some specific processing info on his page, here is a link: http://www.blackandwhiteslide.com/tp.html
It would take one roll to calibrate the roll and then you'd only have one left. dr5 has it dialed in for you already. Then you'd have a positive as original for your scanning adventures.

Hope that helps.
