Last year I said that I was going to be more focused on getting it right in camera more often than not. I think I have grown in that area. This year I think I want to stick to and maybe find my photographic voice. Stick to one thing and develop it. What about you? Any new year photographic resolution?

Procrastinate less? (Sorry, but my reply to your post is pretty late...)

Seriously though, I need to improve the ratio of things I want to do, vs. things I have to do. The economic hard times have resulted in a long hours/mediocre pay job that I'm told I'm lucky to have. Well I am lucky to have it, but I've almost completely lost sight of my own interests - photography.

I'm hoping for better days so that I can steal some time for the things I care about and break out of the work_until_exhaustion rut. I sorely miss getting out and taking those scenic shots.

I hope this doesn't sound too negative - I'm wishing for better times for one and all of us.

John

This year I have unofficially taken on the "Photo a Day" challenge. So far, 16 days in, I am doing well. I am finding inspiration all around me, and I am experimenting with new shooting techniques. I may be spreading myself too thin to have a single photographic voice, but I am feeling very creative. I picked up a well-loved Calulmet cc400 last year, and I am busy making all sorts of mistakes every time I go on a shoot. With the addition of an old Beseler45MCR enlarger over the holidays, I am on my way to making some sweet prints. (I hope)

Cheers, and belated Happy New Year!
