Here is a list of things I think need work.
  • Dates - dates and times are always formatted in US standard format. They should be configurable for UK and other formats.
  • Buttons in the thread views are really hard to make out - new ones are needed.
  • Inability to hide forums from search views. A feature on other forums that I've come to value.

I'll add more as I find out more about the software.

Hi Robert, if possible it would be nice if the thread you are responding to or posting is shown below the reply box. It is nice to review what you are responding to without having to go back to the page.

Hi Jorge,

There is a way, but it isn't very obvious. When you click the "Reply" button, you are taken to a new page, where you type your reply. Just under the box where you type the reply you see a bar that says "Post Options", and right under that is "Last 10 Posts in Descending Order". By default, that is closed, but if you click on the litte "+" sign you will see the posts. Like I say, it isn't very obvious. I'll see what I can come up with to make this more user friendly.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Robert

Robert,

Seems that the site doesn't give out cookies.

I have to manually log on each time I visit the site. I don't get the usual "dialog box" in Mozilla Firefox allowing me to set it to "auto log on".

The site itself "remembers" my log on info - but there doesn't seem to be a way to auto connect.

Regards,

George

It would be nice to have a button to take you to recent posts from the home page like many of the other site have. It's a bit tedious to peel the onion as it were to get to the most recent posts, and then you are left with the option of going to the last post or starting at the beginning of a thread, no place to go to the earliest new posting in the thread. That may have something to do with cookies on the last one. As of yet we don't have much problems with finding your starting point in a thread because traffic is very low but I can imagine the hassle if a good ripsnorter gets started.

Good idea Gary. I'm planning on adding these things to the site wide menu within the next couple of weeks. My next task will be to integrate the site and forum much more, so members can jump back and forth much easier.

Thanks for the suggestions,
