Hello,

I’ve been a film guy all along, but my interest really escalated five years ago when I bought a used TLR. I love the color prints it gives me, and prefer the look of optical rather than scanned enlargements. This website shows great promise, so here I am.

I’m looking forward to the insights and interactions I know I’ll find here.

Best Regards,

JJC

Aloha and welcome from Hawaii. I'm glad you decided to join us. I used to have a TLR myself, and that is what got me hooked on the larger transparencies. Now, I shoot 4x5 though. Looking forward to hearing more from you, and seeing some of your work.

An old Hasidic story says we should wear a coat with two pockets in order to receive God's message. In one pocket, the message is: "You are nothing but one of billions of grains of sand in the universe." In the other, the message is: "I made the universe just for you."

Recalling from my boyhood the great pictures my father used to get from his trusty Ricohflex, I had to get a TLR. Mine is a Mamiya, and I am a fan of all TLRs. I just love the whole concept and it’s elegant simplicity.

Nice to meet you!
