My interest in photography started when I was 8 and I processed my first film. I've been hooked ever since. I live in Adelaide Australia a city of about 1.2 million people. Large format is my passion as I have two 5x4 cameras and last count too many lenses. All fairly old but a lot of fun to use. In 2005 and again in 2006 I spent a most amazing time with Kevin Saitta and his family, just outside the Yosemite national park and got to see all -- well most -- of the images an Australian grows up with that are the stuff of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston legend. The internet is an amazing communication tool. Also in 2006 Robert was in Australia and I spent a great few days driving with him to the centre of Australia and "rough" camping.

Thanks for the site Robert.

An old Hasidic story says we should wear a coat with two pockets in order to receive God's message. In one pocket, the message is: "You are nothing but one of billions of grains of sand in the universe." In the other, the message is: "I made the universe just for you."

Hi Steve,

welcome from Minnesota, USA. The internet is indeed a blessing in many ways, it has allowed all of us here to connect with people with the same interest in photography!

Looking forward to seeing some of your work and posts.

Photography is my insanity asylum, where I can focus on making one single thing perfect, while the rest of the world fades into the periphery.
