I quite like that image Lauren. It is different, with the light coming from what I would think is an unexpected direction. Thanks for sharing that. Hopefully, some with more knowledge of B&W than I have will also give their comments.

| Nice shot! The highlights look very blown out/over-exposed, but that can just be the scan. If they print that way (wet darkroom print - not inkjet) then you may want to rate this film/developer combo a little higher. It's just really hard to tell for sure from a scan what's causing the highlights to lose detail as one of the drawbacks of digital (whether it be a digital camera, flatbed scanner or dedicated film scanner - drum scanners excepted) is the limited dynamic range. Joe: You might be right i do not know at this time, But it was shot against a black background , so to tell if the negative is thin ? The flower has detail but is it enough is my thoughts as you have stated, to many variables here , darn no simple things [ but i shall not give up I may get something that can be post and look good yet11I have added another foto of the same flower before the bottom bud was removed: thanks lot for your input:

The second one almost looks posterized. I think your scanning may need a little tweaking. Do you check the histogram after doing a preview? It took me quite sometime to figure out how to scan b&w negs. Color is much easier.
